Our Experienced Clinical Team

Dean Misiura DPT, PT

Dean Misiura graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelors in Health & Exercise Science and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA. Dean used his knowledge to assist in the rehabilitation of his teammates’ various football injuries that were obtained playing for the college.  Deans passion for learning, teaching and how to optimize the way your body moves after an injury, lead him to earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from NYU.

Prior to joining Twin Boro Dean had the opportunity to work within Mount Sinai and Jersey Shore Medical Hospitals broadening his experience to encompass both extremes of the health spectrum.  Dean began his career with Twin Boro in 2015 as a clinician in Parlin, and later became the Clinical Director of our Edison location.

Dean believes in implementing a variety of treatment strategies from manual therapy to Yoga and Feldenkrais with his patients. He is certified in the Total Motion Release (TMR) technique, a nontraditional yet effective approach to allow the body to naturally re-align and heal. Dean uses hands on treatment techniques including soft tissue, joint, and neural mobilization to the areas of your body that need it most. He continues to expand his range of knowledge with courses and certifications including Running Injury Recovery Certification, Institute of Physical Art Functional Mobilization, Great Lakes Seminars, and TMR.

When treating patients or managing other therapists, Dean implements Twin Boro’s One2FourTM Care Model to determine the “right level of health care” for each individual.  This unique approach looks at the entire episode of care for the patient or athlete. This ranges from  a relatively low level of function a patient might experience post injury or surgery all the way through to the peak performance required to return to their prior or preferred level of function. Therapists that skillfully combine manual therapy with evolving functional exercise along the One2FourTM continuum strive to achieve the individual’s “meaningful goals” and “desired outcomes”.
