Our Experienced Clinical Team

Heather Brown DPT, PT

Heather Brown graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelor’s in Health Science and Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She received a Roger Nelson Research Award from Lebanon Valley College for research performed, alongside Doctors from Hershey Medical, on Pediatric Oncology patients. Heather also had the opportunity to study in Philadelphia shadowing an orthopedic surgeon at University of Pennsylvania Sports Medicine working with Pediatric patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. These clinical studies expanded to Neuro Rehab, Outpatient Orthopedics at the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Heather Joined Twin Boro Physical Therapy in 2014 following graduation from LVC at the Toms River site. She has advanced to become the Clinical Director of Manahawkin Office. Heather pursued continuing education courses, through Great Lakes seminars, with a concentration on the treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar impairments.

Her personal patient care approach focuses on treating the patient as a whole, not strictly an injury or dysfunction. Every patient is treated with the utmost respect and care from the moment they enter the clinic, for their Initial Evaluation, and continuing throughout their plan of care. The goal is to build a relationship with patients so they view Twin Boro as a part of their lifelong medical care.  Every treatment plan is unique to each patient and the goals they establish for themselves, as well as the goals we establish together.

When treating patients or managing other therapists, Heather implements Twin Boro’s One2FourTM Care Model to determine the “right level of health care” for each individual.  This unique approach looks at the entire episode of care for the patient or athlete. This ranges from  a relatively low level of function a patient might experience post injury or surgery all the way through to the peak performance required to return to their prior or preferred level of function. Therapists that skillfully combine manual therapy with evolving functional exercise along the One2FourTM continuum strive to achieve the individual’s “meaningful goals” and “desired outcomes”.
