Telehealth physical therapy is online in-home physical therapy. It enables you to stay active and healthy in the comfort of your own home. The experts at Twin Boro Physical Therapy explain more about the service below so you can decide whether virtual physical therapy is the right fit for you.

About Us

Telehealth Physical Therapy Since 1980, Twin Boro Physical Therapy has provided residents of New Jersey with the highest quality rehabilitation services. We are the state’s largest private physical therapy practice, offering 51 convenient locations in 16 counties throughout the State.

Our physical therapists are compassionate, dedicated professionals, including highly qualified physical therapists, occupational therapists, and certified hand therapists, who are committed to the health of their patients. Many of them have over 25 years of experience in physical therapy.

What is Telehealth Physical Therapy?

In telehealth physical therapy, you will work with a Twin Boro physical therapist from home to address your injury or condition and create a rehabilitation plan, just like in-person visits.

Telehealth physical therapy visits are conducted through audio-video chat on an Internet-connected device that’s equipped with a camera and microphone. You will need access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer with reliable internet and video capabilities. Download the telehealth app onto your device based on instructions provided by your therapist before your first telehealth visit. We aim to make the process as easy as possible.

All telehealth PT sessions with us are confidential and secure.  We do not save, record, or store any of your information or any of the video or audio from your sessions.  For privacy at home, we recommend finding a quiet space (with a good internet connection) where you can easily communicate with your therapist with minimal disruptions or background noise.

Ideal Candidates for Telehealth Physical Therapy

To help you decide whether telehealth physical therapy might work for you, the following types of patients are most likely to see results that are comparable with in-person treatment.

  • Passionate and determined patients. Patients who take an active role in their recovery always have the best outcomes. This is even more important when your recovery depends on your dedication to your home exercise program and following the recommendations of your therapist without the benefit of manual therapy.
  • Technologically-savvy patients. You don’t have to be a computer wizard to succeed with telehealth physically therapy, but patients who are more accustomed to using Zoom, FaceTime, and other video-related web services will have an easier time adapting.
  • Athletes. Active individuals who are in-tune with their bodies are more likely to achieve a full recovery when taking advantage of telehealth PT visits.
  • Existing patients. If you have been working with a physical therapist already, you may find it easy and effective to transition to virtual care.
  • Returning patients. If our physical therapists have already worked with you and know your body and your history, it can also help ease your transfer to virtual care.

Don’t worry if you don’t see yourself described above. If you are dedicated to your results, we will still work with you and will try to make the process as easy as possible for you.
