Here are a few of our at-home favorites:

Seated Straight-Leg Raise

Sit in a chair with your feet firmly planted on the ground and your back straight. Your knees should be at a 90-degree angle. With your back straight, straighten one leg while keeping the thighs together. Hold for 10 to 15 seconds and then lower the leg back to starting position. Repeat 10 times on each side.

Lying Down Knee Press

Lie down on your back with one leg straight and the other bent, with the bent leg’s foot on the floor. Place a rolled towel under the ankle of the straightened leg. Use the muscles of the straightened leg to push the back of the knee firmly towards the ground. Hold for 5 to 10 seconds. Repeat on each side 5 times.

Seated Leg Stretch

Sit on the floor and straighten both legs out in front of you. Slowly bend one knee, sliding the foot as close to the glutes as you can. Hold for 5 to 10 seconds, then slowly straighten the leg again. Repeat on each side 10 times.

Modification: If you can’t sit on the floor, sit on the sofa or a chair and use a board or flat surface to slide the foot across.

Lying Down Leg Raises

Lie on the back with one leg straight and the other knee bent with the foot on the ground. Lift the foot of the straight leg off of the ground about 6 inches and hold with the leg straight for 5 seconds. Repeat 5 times.
