Physical Therapy in Montgomery, NJ

Twin Boro Physical Therapy has been serving New Jersey residents for over 40 years. We are the largest private physical therapy practice in the state of New Jersey and have 51 convenient locations across 16 counties. We have been voted the best physical therapy practice in the state of New Jersey, in part because of our dedication to continually understanding the latest scientific methods and incorporating evidence-based methods.

We believe in one-on-one pairings between our patients and physical therapists. This one-on-one pairing allows for deeper connections to be formed, as well as the incorporation of more engaged physical therapy treatments such as manual therapy, joint manipulation, and real-time feedback and corrections when performing exercises. In addition to this, a one-on-one pairing helps create a safe space for the patient to ask questions and give input into their program to incorporate their preferences.

Beyond our one-on-one pairing, we incorporate our trademarked One2FourTM approach when designing programs for our patients. Depending on your independence at home, mobility levels, and athletic goals, you will be assigned an initial category 1-4. This category will give you a clear idea of where you are starting and connect you to resources that are appropriate for you. As you progress, you will see the movement between categories and be continually connected to new resources that better suit you as your needs change.

Most Common Age-Related Injuries

Aging can cause several physical changes that make us more prone to certain types of injuries. Our expert physical therapists treat many types of age-related injuries and conditions. Some of the most common are:

Lower Back Pain: As we age, our ligaments thicken and we are much more prone to disc degeneration and developing arthritis in our joints. This can lead to increased lower back pain, reduced mobility, and a greater chance of lower back injury.

Hip Dislocations: Factors such as weakened vision and reduced bone strength related to age can increase the chances of falling or tripping. This results in an increased number of hip dislocations for older adults.

Ankle Sprains: Ankle sprains are also increasingly common among older adults as mobility lowers. It can be more difficult to maneuver around turns and uneven ground, and more difficult to react quickly when a stumble occurs.

Groin Injuries: Tighter muscles and less elasticity can make groin injuries more common in older adults. Workouts and movements that used to be easy may now result in overextending or tearing muscles within the groin region.
