Marios Christodoulou, PT, DPT, MS, is a distinguished physical therapist whose journey into the field was sparked by a profound passion for health and sciences. His diverse background in medical research and teaching, coupled with a pivotal moment observing physical therapists at work, solidified his decision to pursue a career dedicated to health and rehabilitation.
Educated at the New York Institute of Technology with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Marios furthered his expertise with a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Post Long Island University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stony Brook University. His academic journey is marked by a commitment to excellence and a deep understanding of the human body’s complexities.
Marios’s professional path is characterized by significant leadership roles, including serving as the Clinical Director of Physical & Occupational Therapy at both Jersey City Medical Center and Newport Rehabilitation Center. His dedication to education continued as an Adjunct Professor of Gross Anatomy for NYIT Physical & Occupational Therapy students.
In 2017 while working for Twin Boro Physical Therapy, Marios took on the role of Clinical Director at Jersey City Medical Center, a position he held until 2021, simultaneously leading Newport Rehabilitation starting in 2020. His commitment to lifelong learning is evident in his continued education, with courses in Kinesio Taping, concussion strategies, joint therapy for athletes, and diabetes management in therapy.
Specializing in sports rehab and treating ‘Weekend Warrior’ injuries, Marios has a particular interest in the adult population. He frequently addresses conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis, Ankle Sprains, Patellofemoral Syndrome, Joint OA, Bursitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, DeQuervain’s Tendonitis, Golfer’s/Tennis Elbow, RTC Tendinitis, Shoulder Impingement Syndrome, Lumbar and Cervical Radiculopathy.
Marios’s approach to patient care is holistic and collaborative. He leverages his extensive background to educate and empower patients, ensuring they are active participants in their rehabilitation journey.
