Bio
Sandy Pietrewicz graduated magna cum laude from the University of Eindhoven, receiving her B.S. in Physical Therapy. She also holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of San Diego. Physical Therapy is the perfect career for Sandy because it brings together her two passions, sports and biology. She loves that each patient is different and that she gets to diagnose, create a plan of care and see results.
Sandy was the co-owner and founder of Craft Physical Therapy, where she worked as a Physical Therapist since 2005 before merging with Twin Boro Physical Therapy in 2021. Before that, she worked side-by-side with Charles Virgin, M.D., head orthopedic surgeon to the Miami Dolphins. She further honed her manual skills in NYC at a busy, outpatient facility. Sandy frequently treats orthopedic, sports rehabilitation and post-operative patients. She specializes in extremities and the spine in adolescents to seniors.
Sandy has completed various CE courses over her career. She has received training in post-operative care, disorders of the spine, manual therapy, joint mobilization and sports-specific conditions from adolescents to geriatrics.
Sandy uses patient-focused guiding principles, and her objectives are goal-oriented with Twin Boro’s One2Four™ Care Model. Her patient-centered functional approach includes an individualized plan of care that includes massage, joint mobilizations, range of motion and modalities in conjunction with appropriate therapeutic exercises.
During Sandy’s downtime, she likes to spend time with her family, friends and her dog. She has a passion for travelling, sports, and concerts. She also loves to be outdoors, especially water sports such as boating, sailing, fishing and kayaking.
