Our Experienced Clinical Team

James Battaglia DPT, PT

James Battaglia attended University of the Sciences in Philadelphia where he completed his undergraduate and graduate studies obtaining his Bachelors in Health Science and Doctorate in Physical therapy. His compassion and main interest was for outpatient orthopedics.  In addition to working for Twin Boro, James worked per diem in acute rehabilitation at Southern Ocean Medical Center for nearly 3 years. Here, he treated patients following total joint replacements, and a variety of conditions after patients suffered from an extended hospital stay.

Shortly after graduation, James started working for Twin Boro Physical Therapy in the Manahawkin office and advanced to the position of Clinical Director.  After getting married and relocating to north New Jersey he was named Clinical director of North Brunswick. Since then he has continued to strive towards excellence, providing exceptional care to all patients.  James is now the Regional Clinical Director of the North Brunswick, South Brunswick and Piscataway offices.

James has continued to advance his skillset by taking a variety of continuing education courses.  He is currently pursuing his certification in manual therapy as a CIMT through the Great Lakes Seminars.  James has completed continuing education courses in Lumbopelvic Integration, Mulligan Concept Upper Extremity & Lower Extremity, Sacroiliac Mobilization, Lumbar Complex, Mobilization of the Cervical and Thoracic Spine and Ribs, Myofascial Release to name a few. James applies his evidence based hands on approach directly to his patients’ care.  He believes not only in providing extensive manual therapy to help restore dysfunctional tissue, but incorporating a well-rounded individualized treatment plan.

When treating patients or managing other therapists, James implements Twin Boro’s One2FourTM Care Model to determine the “right level of health care” for each individual.  This unique approach looks at the entire episode of care for the patient or athlete. This ranges from  a relatively low level of function a patient might experience post injury or surgery all the way through to the peak performance required to return to their prior or preferred level of function. Therapists that skillfully combine manual therapy with evolving functional exercise along the One2FourTM continuum strive to achieve the individual’s “meaningful goals” and “desired outcomes”.
