Our Experienced Clinical Team

Alicia Lalla DPT, PT

Alicia Lalla first became interested in Physical Therapy after suffering from a basketball injury in high school. After working with a local physical therapist, who treated her back injury, she knew she wanted to do the same for others. Alicia went on to receive her B.S. in Biology from Western New England University and continued her studies receiving her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Hartford.

Prior to Joining Twin Boro Physical Therapy, Alicia worked at Premier Health center which specialized in spine and sports rehab. While there, she gained valuable hands on experience utilizing the McKenzie Method for spine patients. Since joining Twin Boro Physical therapy in 2012 she has advanced from a staff therapist and is currently Clinical Director in the Wyckoff clinic. She treats patients with issues ranging from orthopedic cases, neurological cases, to those involving women’s health.

Alicia’s expertise is extensive. She has completed all McKenzie courses and will receive her MDT certification. She is also trained in numerous evidence-based interventions including, functional myofascial release, Kinesio taping, Mulligan and Maitland based joint mobilizations as well as treating a variety of women’s health conditions including, pre and post pregnancy conditions (such as diastasis recti), breast cancer rehabilitation, and the effects of osteoporosis on women.

When treating patients or managing other therapists, Alicia implements Twin Boro’s One2FourTM Care Model to determine the “right level of health care” for each individual.  This unique approach looks at the entire episode of care for the patient or athlete. This ranges from a relatively low level of function a patient might experience post injury or surgery all the way through to the peak performance required to return to their prior or preferred level of function. Therapists that skillfully combine manual therapy with evolving functional exercise along the One2FourTM continuum strive to achieve the individual’s “meaningful goals” and “desired outcomes”.

When Alicia is not busy treating patients she volunteers her medical services around various races in the tri-state area, including the NYC Marathon.
